Residential and Commercial Projects
Whether you are building a new home or business, adding a bedroom or repairing an existing structure, we can help. We provide geotechnical investigations for single-family homes, shoring investigations and design for development in established areas and investigations for commercial construction projects.
Constructing a New Building?
The appropriate foundation for your proposed construction depends on local geology, soil and bedrock characteristics, impacts of ground water, site development, topography and other factors. As part of our geotechnical investigations, Kordziel Engineering develops a drilling, sampling and lab-testing program, which helps determine the right type of foundation your new structure. Recommendations for slab-on-grade construction, drainage and other construction issues are also addressed.
As your construction project progresses, we will provide ongoing construction observations and site assessments to address any unforeseen problems. Soil and geology are unique to every site, and it is important to follow-up the geotechnical investigation with site observations to make sure there are no surprises.
Planning an Addition to Your Home or Business?
Building additions present challenges that are not often encountered in new construction. Nearby structures, difficult drilling access, existing landscaping and utilities need to be taken into consideration prior to proceeding. Kordziel Engineering has extensive experience dealing with challenges that some engineering firms prefer to pass on. From mini-drill rigs to shoring designs for excavations adjacent to existing homes or roads, we can get your project off to the right start. We will help you ensure your project’s success by reviewing your construction plans, looking at your current foundation and analyzing your soil before you begin your business or home addition.
Having Wet Basement or Foundation Movement Issues?
Soil around your building might have shifted, your structure might have settled, or the ground water levels in the area might have changed. Any of these can cause foundation problems. Kordziel Engineering can inspect your foundation and analyze your subsurface conditions to find the source of your wet basement issues and mitigate foundation movement. We will strive to recommend cost-effective solutions for every situation. If you need a referral for a reputable contractor, we have worked with a wide variety of trusted contractors and are happy to provide a list of names.
Client Testimonial
"Knowledgeable, flexible, reasonable, and easy to work with, Kordziel Engineering is the only geotechnical engineering firm that I provide referrals for. In fact, I have contracted with Kordziel Engineering to provide the geotechnical report for my own home. I enjoy working with Kordziel Engineering because they have an excellent knowledge of the soil conditions encountered in Colorado, they are willing to consider ideas that are put forward and they will work with us to develop alternative designs when difficult or unusual situations arise. Perhaps most importantly, Kordziel Engineering provides recommendations that are well thought out and are possible to follow with typical engineering/construction practices. I feel that Kordziel Engineering provides high quality products at very reasonable prices."
